Jul. 24th, 2004 12:34 amIt has been quite a first week at my new gig. I did my first test-run of my presentation for Meltdown today, which I think went pretty well. I've presented to smaller groups before, but next Tuesday will be my first presentation to a room full of people. Thankfully there are five tracks and I'm not speaking to the biggest one--the graphics track is always the one that is packed--but it will still be an experience. Since this is a key part of my new job, I'm just trying to take it on as professional and effectively as I can.
Since I left work at a reasonable hour tonight, I got a haircut, bought some DVDs, and got some groceries--I haven't been to the store since before my trip to NYC. I came home, made dinner, and watched Lost In Translation. A very well done and touching film, I love the lack of 'neat' end, and beautifully shot to boot. I've not been to Japan since '75, and I was not old enough to really remember any of it, but I'm hoping Microsoft sends me there for work sometime... just not terribly soon :>
I plan to have brunch with
loree Saturday, do a little shopping for Meltdown, and then see Indigo Girls with
jeliza in the evening. Sunday is a Living Greyhawk game. I'll be busy with Meltdown Monday through Wednesday, pretty much the whole day.
