I realize these wankers really think they know what the 'majority of Americans' think, but clearly they have no clue just how un-Internet-savvy that 'majority' is... Even though they tried to frame the poll question in a loaded way (like not giving an option for 'it is one factor I'd consider for the candidate' or 'this is not an issue I'd consider for a candidate'), I don't think they understand that really most people don't think this is a real issue at all... Of course, they have been so successful in twisting something as simple as a medical decision between a doctor and a patient into 'give sperm in the nutsuck the right to vote', so maybe they hope to do it here as well?
I think this is just as much of a non-issue as Clinton's sex life was six years ago... Hell, from a purely financial perspective, you'd think gay marriage would be a bonanza for the lawyers, court-licensing fees, wedding planners, hotel owners, caterers, clothes-stores, jewelry stores, department stores with wedding registries, etc. to support yet more expansion of their already pervasive and disturbingly rich industry.
Actually, that whole 'red-state vs. blue-state' thing is really working against the 'right' on this one. Given that the majority of people live in cities, the blue-states have an advantage in a straight one-vote-per-person issue... They may have registered every cow in Texas as a voter, but they don't tend to show up to the polls...
FYI - by wankers I don't so much mean Republicans, conservatives, or Christians as much as political action groups founded on such ludicrous concepts as "Traditional Values" or "Family Values". Given that the "Traditional Values" of American are a mix of Puritanical nuttery, patriarchal domineering, capitalist greed, embracing the immigrant of the day as cheap labor (after slavery was outlawed over a hundred years into the nation's life), seperation of church and state, and factionalized government I'm not seeing how their 'hot-topics' are remotely related. And don't get me started on "Family Values"... I'm pretty sure that nobody on the planet hates 'families', given that the family has been our primary social organization as a species for hundreds of thousands of years!
I wonder if I could talk the morons who fund these organizations into funding my new political action group: "The Coalition for Americans Who Breath Oxygen and Don't Want to Die".
