"I said nothing and you faded away
I'd give anything to take back all the things I didn't say" -- February 1994 Fisher

Been a good weekend so far, but my plans didn't quite get me through the whole weekend. Went to a friend's wedding down in Tacoma held at Watpo park. One thing this part of the country has in spades is beautiful parks. Nice relaxing event with friends, followed by dinner with some of the other wedding attendees and hanging out until midnight with various TERRA people.

It was a pagan handfasting, and I found the ceremony details interesting. When [livejournal.com profile] appleang and I were handfasted, the vows were "as long as the love shall last" and the 'handfasting' was done so that ribbons were held in each persons' hand holding the hands together, symbolizing that the bonds existed by choice. This one effectively had "to death do us part" and the handfasting was a serious knot with rope. I don't know if it is better to allow for the realities of divorce in this day and age, or to be dedicated enough to make that kind of life-long promise.

Played a Living Jungle game online this morning--the campaign is one of the ones that the RPGA in its infinite wisdom (i.e. marketing-oriented and self-serving desire to cut things even if they required zero work on their part) decided to kill after GenCon Midwest. Fun game, and hopefully they will find a new home somewhere...

Got mail from Andrea Saturday morning--I had written her a week or two back to say hi and send some Fisher tracks. Part of me has more hope than I should about somehow finding a way to reach her again, but that is not going to happen. Not only does she not love me, she doesn't seem able to believe that I love her. Hell, its been over a year and I know she's long since given up on me. Cutting my losses and walking away is just not something I find easy to do despite being the tactic of choice for so many.

Anyhow, lots to accomplish at work this week and it will be a short one for the 4th of July weekend, which I'll be spending at Westercon
