Apparently all the locals think it is hot. It barely made it into the 90s for the high, and 92 is the record high for June in this area anyhow. It is the first time I've been really comfortable temperature-wise since I moved here--it is also the first time since I moved to Seattle I had any call for my car windshield-sunscreen. Actually, it was perfect in the shade and a tad much in the direct sunlight for any length of time.

Played Living City in Tacoma today and then went to see Finding Nemo with [livejournal.com profile] loree as a sort of birthday-thingy for her. Cute film, with awesome effects.

For those of you who don't know from my friends-only posts, I may not be able to stay working at Beep for more than a month or so, so I'm looking around for other job opportunities--I can't really go into detail in public at this point. The prospect of having to find a new job is making me evaluate a number of things about my life as it stands. I really, really like working at Beep, but I have to accept that I probably won't have that option for long. I don't hate the idea of moving, but I don't want to do it so soon as I've only been here for 2 years as of July. Part of me wishes I could move to Portland, and not just in silly day-dreams of Andrea, but the same lack of a good fit for a job for me that kept from moving there when Andrea did is probably still true. Austin is still a very loaded place for me, and besides it feels like I'd be going backwards in my life. Financially I'd be much better off find work locally. I'd like to stay in games, but really any 3D computer graphics work would be fun as well. I'm tempted to look into the graphics film industry as a possibility, but I think I'd definitely have to move to California to do that--and without a girl to move for, I don't think it would be worth it. I could see if DigiPen University (a local game degree college) has openings, but I'm not quite ready to retire my career and focus on teaching just yet...

I'm damn tempted to try to get out of the second slot of the gameday next Saturday for the Heart concert down in Auburn. It is just too damn retro for me to miss--Heart was the first concert I ever went to back in the day of the "Bad Animals" album--and from the PBS showing of their recent concert, they are going back to the songs of their hey-day. I really like "Little Queen" , "Dreamboat Annie", and their self-titled albums a lot more than the last few they put out before their decade-long hiatus...
