Anyone else keep getting "Error 999: This page is currently unavailable" from Yahoo! Groups today? I've tried to check via the web interface all day and I get nothing but that stupid error. As far as I can tell, there is no way to actually send a tech support e-mail to Yahoo! since they don't have any published contact information!

Grrr.

Anyhow, I made a trip to Re-PC today and found a new 40 GB HD on sale for cheaper than the one I returned to CompUSA already, as well as an AMD K6-2 500 Mhz chip for $15. The new BIOS upgrade I have on the way should support both of these--it is currently an AMD K6-2 350 Mhz. Re-PC was actually kinda disturbing... a place where computer technology goes to die. They had box after box of cables, parts, drives, modems, you name it. Most of it crap mind you, but I remember when I paid close to $500 for 2 whole sticks of 4 MB memory and they have a bin full of them collecting dust you can buy for 50 cents each!

[livejournal.com profile] datavore ought to take a load of crap over there. I know I have some stuff that I will never use again that I should give them in case someone else can do something with it.

Update: I had no problem reading Yahoo! Groups at home, so it must be something about Sierra's network. Oh well...
