Been a busy past few days for me...

Thursday was a very enjoyable dinner and evening with [livejournal.com profile] jeliza, and Friday was a fun dinner with [livejournal.com profile] loree, both as late b-day celebrations that fit better with everyone's schedules.

This morning I played a Living Kingdoms of Kalimar round, which was fun but really trashed out my already scratchy throat. Then tonight was an excellent dinner with [livejournal.com profile] royalbananafish and a couple of friends-of-friends from Austin. While I very much appreciate the peace that 2300 miles from a messy interconnected web of relationships has brought my life, it is fun to reconnect with it occassionally and be reminded of just how much everyone I know knows everyone I know... There is supposedly six degrees of maximum separation world-wide, but in Austin I think that is more like two.

After much ingestion of Japanese cuisine, and way too much coffee and chocolate at Dilettante, Liz and friend hit the road for Portland tonight instead of in the morning--at least my coughing in the other room won't be keeping her from sleeping. Koshka got seriously spoiled by a fellow Russian-Blue devotee, so I think she got to enjoy the quick visit a lot as well.

All-in-all, very social and quite relaxing. The only real problem is that my cough is really harsh and I'm still having to sleep sitting up in an attempt to avoid bronchitis setting in. Hopefully this will be the last night I have to resort to Nyquil as well. I haven't been as run-down the past few days, but the cough and congestion is really taking its toll on my throat and nose. Owie.

Tomorrow should be a pretty quiet day. I'm hopeful I can manage brunch with [livejournal.com profile] jeliza and perhaps family. Tomorrow evening is a playtest for a Living Greyhawk round, and otherwise I should spend the day napping to put this damn cold to rest.
