E3

I'm off to E3 on an early flight tomorrow morning. This year I'll be putting in a really long week helping with Microsoft's combined Games for Windows and Xbox 360 Booth--I even have cards know that show I'm branded by both now--doing setup, meetings, helping with tear-down, etc. Since I'm no longer in tiny group sending one or two people to E3 and now in a group sending over a 100, I have been assigned a random roommate for the week. Good times.

For the majority of you who have never attended E3, here is what you can do to simulate the experience:
  • Go to a techno club and stand right next to the speaker stack
  • Take two flashlights and shine them directly into your eyes (preferably with some color filters over the caps)
  • Try to carry on a conversation
  • Add women in ridiculous costumes (perhaps by attending an animae convention rave instead of a techno club)
  • Walk 10 miles. Through a riot
  • Repeat for 3 days
  • As for actual computer games, watch a bunch of marketing trailers and try to determine if the game itself will suck or even what the actual gameplay might be
