Summer Project

While [livejournal.com profile] cuddlyeconomist was staying with me over the summer, she had a good deal of time on her own during the afternoons. So she decided to clear out the weeds in my front planters, and then plant new stuff. I've been ignoring both the front and back yard for a while assuming the 'Big Yard Project' would fix it all, but starting with the front was a nice smaller-scale project. I removed the chainlink and added some trellises, she did a lot of detail work with the planning and planting, and we got a nice layer of mulch down over new soil. Her only complaint was that it would take five years before things grew in enough to match the plan, but it's a great place to start.

The result of the efforts can be seen here.
