The more paltable John McCain gets to the "conservative" wonk groups that like to use words like "Liberty" and "Family" Newspeak-style language tricks, the less I like him. The extreme wingnut part of the Republican party is clearly having fits over their pet issues, and the sad truth is that McCain will have to jettitison a lifetime of relatively sane, moderate politics at least in "private" to really get the nomination.
