Giving thanks
Been a short, quiet week at work with my boss on vacation and catching up after my own. Things will be busy through the holidays, and next year is promising to be a wild ride launching Windows Vista and all the plans we have around it. That or the division's morale will be at a crushing low.
The Fiona Apple concert was great. Her audience is more or less a mainstream crowd, and frankly suffered from a bit too much wine and testosterone. Still, a lot of her tracks make a bit more sense once you see them performed lived. She obviously played a lot from the new album, but also did a fair number of my favorites from her first two albums: sleep to dream, paper bag, get gone, and i know. Sadly she didn't play love ridden or never is a promise. Still, quite fun. The concert also gave me a chance to get to know an acquaintance a bit better, so definitely a nice evening.
Today is dinner at
loree and
datavore's place. I'm working on some home-made dinner rolls, and then heading over this afternoon. Tonight
loree and I are going to see Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire at the IMAX. She's seen it already, but it will be my first viewing as I was in SoCal during the premiere.
Tomorrow's plans are a bit vague, but hopefully
jeliza will be feeling better and have some time. I've got some gaming plans for Saturday and Sunday, so overall it should be a fine long weekend spent with my Seattle friends.
And for all those I won't get a chance to see this weekend: Happy Thanksgiving.
