Weekend Update
Jul. 27th, 2009 12:42 amThe original plan was to go to the
oloteas campout this weekend, but we were still a little 'camped out' from last weekend's trip to Portland. We then were planning to day-trip Saturday, and went to Friday night with
loree and others for a last night at The Jones (at least until it reopens as something else).
Saturday morning we took our bikes out to Alki Cafe, which itself was a rescheduled bike ride as I was rather busy at work this week and got home too late Wednesday evening to do it then. We decided that while the
oloteas event was fun, we had a rather limited amout of "quiet time" at the house for the rest of the summer so we called it a 'hanging out around the house' weekend after all. Instead we had a few of
cuddlyeconomist's friends (who are themselves new to Seattle) over for dinner. It rained in the evening, which was a nice relief. Thanks to our shade purchased for the 4th of July weekend, it did not negatively impact our dinner hosting plans. We did get the window A/C unit installed since it is getting into the 'hot time' for Seattle, and her mom is coming in next week anyhow.
This morning
cuddlyeconomist woke up really early with a stomach flu, so we spent the day sitting around the cool living room and watching TV. I went out to mow and do some weeding at dusk, and it was still sweaty work. With the rain, it was more humid than usual. I was doubly-glad that we had the window A/C installed and were not trying to camp out today, as she has been feeling under the weather all day.
Rhys arrived back in Seattle safely for the remainder of his summer stay with us, and I've managed to knock out 2 of 3 high-priority projects at work. One more to go. Lots of work to do now that Windows 7 and Direct3D 11 is done and about to ship out to the world in it's final usable form.
