Back from Texas
The flight from DFW was delayed getting in boarding by about a half-hour because they had to haul a poor older man from the previous flight off the plane in a stretcher. We were then delayed another half-hour waiting for a replacement oxygen canister for the first-aid kit since it was used for said fellow. At least the flight turned out shorter than the scheduled arrival time would indicate. Also, while it was indeed a packed flight and I had to
live with a middle-seat for 4 hours, at least the people on either side of me were women--cute ones at that--and not football players or Iraqi-returning soldiers guzzling down the booze. Actually, the latter was three rows back.
I enjoyed another gift from the holidays: a collection of Sarah McLachlan videos on DVD.
tavalon had shown me a similar collection a few years back, but I knew that her VCR had eaten the thing. In any case, it was great fun to see them again. I think Steaming still goes down as my favorite 'old Sarah' tune, even though I'm not sure I have any clue what she meant it to be about in the first place. I also enjoyed the fact that Sarah had some kind of 'showing herself nude' fixation in early videos either in shadow-light or covered in mud. Ah, Sarah, why did you have to marry that little drummer boy?
Anyhow, I made it home safe. Thanks to
jeliza for the welcome home and the ride to/from the airport. My biggest plan for the evening is going to be to try really hard to stay awake until 10:30pm; sleep proving to be a difficult temptation.
