Yesterday was a long, but enjoyable day. Got up at 7am to head up to Lynnwood where I was helping judge a Living Greyhawk gameday. Turned out they had the morning slot covered already by the time I arrived, so I hung out an hour or so and then gave [livejournal.com profile] jeliza a call. We had a nice breakfast in the company of the [livejournal.com profile] divinemisso, and then I had another few hours to kill. [livejournal.com profile] jeliza recommended a beach in Edmonds, but a steady stream of divers kept the parking lot full. Still managed to explore the area a bit--I had only been in that area for a short time while exiting a car ferry.

Eventually made it back to judge the afternoon slot, then skipped out of the last slot to have a date with [livejournal.com profile] jeliza. Most of our dates have started pretty late, so it was a novel thing for her to be available while it was still light. Unfortunately, [livejournal.com profile] drakemonger had taken seriously ill so our time was limited though quite enjoyable.

[livejournal.com profile] jeliza and I have a lot of overlap in musical taste, but certainly not exactly the same collection of artists. She made a mix CD for me including a bunch of different stuff, and I really like Jill Sobule. The only song anyone is likely to know of hers is "I Kissed A Girl". She never really fit into the 'hit-maker' mold and lost her major label a few years back. Really nice, really quirky music.
