Melissa Etheridge
I fell in love with Melissa Etheridge's music because of the Brave & Crazy album... Almost every song tells a story that touches me, reflects feelings I still cling to, cherish, and in many cases long to relive. That is even more true of her self-titled album. Her new stuff a decade later is enjoyable, but often lacks the same emotional power for me, perhaps because unlike me she has really moved on and found a happy, rewarding life after all those years of pain.
Good for her.
I'm still working on it. I'm still unclear about the future and what it is that I can have and want from it, but it doesn't weigh so heavily on my mind these days. There are things in my life that bring me great happiness, things to make the present worth living and the future a bit more hopeful, yet I know that the years keep rolling by. I just hope I don't let the chances pass by, or leave the doors of possibility closed, and that I can handle the inevitable disappointments with grace and fully enjoy the triumphs.
